I've Got You Covered...

Whoops, it's been a bit of a while since...*checks* ...December. I HAVE been doing things, honest. So, here's a little update for you. Following their debut at the recent Bristol Comic Expo; my newest set of prints double as custom sleeves for PlayStation 3 (i.e. Blu-Ray) and Xbox (i.e. DVD/etc). They were designed and trimmed to immediately work as sleeves, and some are also double-sided.

Here's a rundown of what was available:

This is designed to represent any of the Batman: Arkham series for PS3

PS3 flip side

Same design; but tweaked slightly to accommodate the larger Xbox/DVD size

Xbox/DVD flip side

Aliens VS Predator for PS3

...and the same again for Xbox/DVD. No flip side to this design unfortunately.

Some PS3 exclusives now. This one is for Journey; previously released only as a download, it received a disc release with the Collector's Edition.

Journey flip side

And finally, the magnificent Team ICO games, deservedly re-released for PS3 in re-mastered editions. Both sides of this sleeve are designed to accommodate both games. This side is ICO...

...with Shadow of the Colossus on the flip side.

Along with these were a few more new prints. The covers to Vampire Variations Volume II, and Nosferatu were also available, along with the regulars seen at previous shows, including Darth Vader, Boba Fett, Radagast the Brown, and Regular Show; plus fan books and a further reprint of The Grinning Man.

All this (and possibly more) will be available again at the forthcoming London MCM Comic Con at the end of this month. Hopefully I'll see you there - mine's a tea; milk with no sugar - thanks! ^^

LSCC.....OMG.....etc.....

With the London Super Comic Con just around the corner - here's a peek at what I will have at my table during the weekend.

As mentioned in the earlier post - The Grinning Man is an A4 sized, 24-page comic book ghost story about a young boy's journey through his own memory; and his mysterious encounter with the enigmatic 'grinning' man. But as the memory unfolds and the truth becomes darker - the boy is forced to realise that nothing is ever as it seems...

Also available will be an A5 sized Fan Book:

Mike Read Has Beautiful Breath is a 24-page collection of my illustrations deriving from popular culture. (There's a double pop culture reference in the title - brownie points to those who spot its origin/s.)

It collects various images of my various fandoms, past and present, blogged and unblogged. Through Film/TV, comics, cartoons, and video games. It also has a sketchbook section containing doodles and sketches showing the inner workings of some of the larger pieces. From Adventure Time to Zombies, and everything inbetween.

I will also be bringing along this little fella...

As well as shoes I have been painting on t-shirts, and the little Mite from Ni No Kuni and others will be available at my table throughout the weekend. SO, if you're looking for 30 seconds to kill whilst you chew on a falafel or whatever - why not come visit me? I'll most probably be the one scowling or snoozing in a corner somewhere...or perhaps I'll be the one waving at you frantically like a mad person. Who knows?

Entertainment Media Show 2012

Well - what a weekend! After having only a short week to prepare, I think it went surprisingly well. Those of you who merrily gandered through what can only be described as a 'working' mess of prints, booklets and general arty stuffs and picked up any of my 100+ FREE (No, really they ARE free, believe me) sketch cards produced at my table throughout most of the weekend- thank you and enjoy.

Ofcourse a BIG thank you to all who purchased prints, booklets, original artwork, etc. and I hope to see you soon at future events.

Here's a selection of what was on offer:

Adventure Time Print - A4 on 100% cotton stock

Batman Print - A4 on 100% cotton stock

Page from the above booklet of one of the new illustrations.

The premium eye-candy at my table (so it seemed) - Adventure Time hand painted shoes! Yup, for realisies. Unfortunately this pair is not for sale, as they were for display purposes only. Commissions are accepted though, those wishing to enquire need only contact me through the email address on the right.

Same shoes. Different angle. Mad poo brains.

Yet more Adventure Time (pssh anyone would think this is POPULAR or something!) this time a customised notebook with drawings on the front and back covers...

...and on the front page.

Another customised notebook, this time Batman themed. This is the illustration over the two covers...

...and on the centre spread.
